2024 Orientation Camp – Camp Kairos

SMSANZ’s Orientation Camp, fondly called “Ocamp ” is a yearly event organised by the seniors for incoming Singaporean students headed to Australia and New Zealand for their medical and dentistry studies.

The main objective of the Orientation Camp is to create a platform where incoming freshmen can form strong bonds, engage in social activities, and enjoy a fun-filled experience with their fellow peers. The friendships and connections that they make during the camp can help ease their transition as they settle down in medical school in a foreign country.

In 2024, the Orientation Camp was called Camp Kairos, symbolising the endeavouring spirit of the new medical students.  Camp Kairos was a 2 day camp centred around the theme of Singaporean food and was primarily focused around Sentosa island. The camp rallied over 100 attendees from over 6 universities all around Australia and New Zealand. All attendees not only had the chance to engage in fun activities with their peers and forge new bonds but also were able to interact with their seniors during mentorship sessions. The orientation camp was overall well received by all attendees and was successful.
