The basic suturing workshop is a session designed to teach participants fundamental suturing skills and techniques that are essential for surgical practice. The workshop provides valuable learning opportunities for junior medical students to hone these foundational skills essential in future surgical training. For senior medical students, this workshop also offers a chance to reinforce their suturing knowledge and skills, reaffirming their clinical capabilities.
For more proficient medical students, we hold advanced suturing workshops in conjunction with Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and Ng Teng Fong Hospital (JurongHealth Simulation & Clinical Education Centre). These workshops teach advanced surgical techniques such as surgical hand ties, laparoscopic procedures, and anastomosis methods. It provides medical students a rare opportunity to carry out surgical procedures and develop their interest in surgery.
