Lee Foundation Overseas Medical Bursary Educational Fund

The Lee Foundation Overseas Medical Bursary Education Fund is a bond-free bursary offered by Lee Foundation to provide financial aid to Singaporeans studying medicine overseas.The bursary will be administered by MOHH, on behalf of the Lee Foundation.

Recipients would receive S$30,000 in the year of award to support their studies. The bursary is tenable for one academic year. A fresh application is required in each academic year.

Applicants will be considered based on financial need, academic performance and co-curricular achievements. Students are also required to undergo an interview with MOHH, conducted remotely using VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) software such as Skype.

Who Can Apply?

Singapore Citizens studying in an overseas medical school recognised by the Singapore Medical Council will be eligible to apply. Applicants are only eligible if their per capita monthly household income is S$1,900 or less. Only 1 applicant per household may apply for the Bursary.

The Bursary is only applicable to the current year of studies and retrospective applications are not allowed. Applicants must be:

  • Going on/ in their 2nd year of studies for a 4-year medical course; OR
  • Going on/in their 2nd or 3rd year of studies for a 5 or 6-year medical course
