During the summer break in 2023, we organised a befriending event for NKF Singapore at the Serangoon centre. We were happy to have 20 enthusiastic volunteers who engaged in conversations with dialysis patients. Through interactive activities such as playing Chinese chess, colouring, connect-the-dots and word puzzles, the dialysis patients had an enjoyable morning and afternoon. Volunteers had a meaningful time interacting with the patients and learning more about their day-to-day lives. The patients enjoyed having someone to chat with during their dialysis, and through sharing their stories, the volunteers established a strong rapport and cherished the connection with each and every one of the patients there.
