The Teddy Bear Hospital event offers a unique and engaging opportunity for young participants to learn about health and well-being in a joyful setting.
In 2023, the event was conducted at the APSN Chaoyang School, which is a school for children with mild learning disabilities and mild autism. We held two sessions on the 15th of January 2024, each with 10 volunteers and 25 students. The event aimed to familiarise children with the clinical environment while teaching them about healthy lifestyle habits. Through interactive activities, children interacted with teddy bears acting as patients, experiencing simulated medical consultations in a fun and lighthearted manner.
The event’s primary focus was to empower children with knowledge about health and alleviate any anxieties they may have about visiting clinics or hospitals. By creating a welcoming atmosphere, the event encouraged children to feel more comfortable in healthcare settings and inspired them to adopt healthy habits from an early age.
Feedback from participants indicated a high level of enjoyment and engagement, higddy Bear Hospital to different centres, providing more children with the opportunity to benefit from this enriching experience.
