Medversation aims to bring together medical students not only from Australia and New Zealand but also students studying in Singapore to interact and find out more about the healthcare scene in Singapore, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic and the changes it brought about.
After a long hiatus due to COVID-19, Medversation was finally reintroduced in 2023! Our team members worked together strongly to put on a great event centralled around the theme: Singapore’s Frontier Healthcare Landscape. With over 40 participants, Medversation was held on 9 December 2023 at Singhealth Academia. We were honoured to have Dr Kenneth Mak as our Guest of Honour, who shared valuable insights into Singapore’s moving medical landscape.
The full day event consisted of intriguing talks by our esteemed speakers, Mr Benedict Tan and Dr Jason Yap, who shared about the role of AI in Medicine, and the evolving healthcare policies in Singapore respectively. This was followed by a panel discussion by doctors in various fields (internal medicine and surgeons) who shed light on the different pathways available for our future doctors, and a series of simulation activities that the participants thoroughly enjoyed.
Despite the setbacks from COVID-19, Medversation 2023 concluded with a resounding success with positive feedback from participants, and we hope to further establish its name in the long run.
