Outreach | CIP Liaison Officer(s) The role of the CIP Liaison Officer is to organise community involvement projects and volunteering opportunities that can allow SMSANZ members to participate in, including but not limited to: – Caring Community Clinic – Project iRemember – HCA Day Hospice Befriending – Care Corner Medical Chaperoning Teddy Bear Hospital Convenor(s) The role of the Teddy Bear Hospital Convenors is to plan and execute the various Teddy Bear Hospitals sessions over the summer and winter holidays, as well as working alongside the Outreach Directors and Committee to develop the Outreach Portfolio including but not limited to: – Reaching out to and liaising with any external organisations/parties – Recruiting and managing a team of volunteers for each session – Budgeting for and purchasing of logistics for each session – Deciding what stations to have for each session – Planning of the order and content in each station – Conducting a thorough after-action review for Teddy Bear Hospital – Creating a handover guide and ensuring smooth handover to 2021 convenors Project Beyond Borders Convenor(s) The role of the Beyond Border convenors is to plan and lead the team for an overseas medical mission trip during the summer holidays, and to work alongside the Outreach Directors and Committee to develop the Outreach Portfolio including but not limited to: – Liaison with external organisations, communities and doctors participating in the project – Recruiting and managing a team of subcommittee members as well as volunteers – Planning of clinics and required logistics – Planning of education or additional segments of the medical mission trip – Budgeting for the project – Plan for fundraising efforts – Conducting a thorough after-action review for Beyond Borders – Creating a handover guide and ensuring smooth handover to 2023 convenors |
Events | Events Officer(s) The role of the Events Officer(s) is to lead the Events Committee in the development of SMSANZâs Education & Social Portfolio including but not limited to: – Leading the events committee to ensure successful planning and execution of event(s) – Liaise with external organisations in the capacity that represents SMSANZ in accordance with the constitution. – Ensuring that all committee members are aware of and carry out their roles and responsibilities efficiently within stipulated time frames Events Representative The role of the Events Representative is to work closely with the Events Officer(s) in the development of SMSANZâs Education & Social Portfolio including but not limited to: – Language Classes – Dialect Classes – Social Events – Upskilling Workshops Together with other members of the Events Committee, you will: – Plan the aforementioned event(s) including but not limited to proposals for program/ budgeting/ manpower allocation/ location management and other relevant aspects. – Liaise with external organisations in the capacity that represents SMSANZ in accordance to the constitution. – Assisting with and provide input for the organising and innovation of events Podcast Host The role of the Podcast Host is to lead SMSANZ’s latest podcast initiative and work closely with the Podcast Writer and Researcher in the development of SMSANZ’s podcast. As part of the role, you will: – Host engaging and informative interview sessions with esteemed doctors – Research background and experience of doctors being interviewed – Uphold professionalism during interviews with doctors – Liaise with external organizations and doctors in the capacity that represents SMSANZ in accordance with the constitution – Edit episodes and release them on Spotify and/or apple podcasts – Produce social media posts to create hype around episodes Podcast Writer/ Researcher The role of the Podcast Host is to write and research for SMSANZ’s podcast and work closely with the Podcast host in the development of SMSANZ’s podcast. As part of the role, you will: – Contact and secure interviews with doctors from different specializations and experiences – Liaise with external organizations and doctors in the capacity that represents SMSANZ in accordance with the constitution. – Research background and experience of doctors being interviewed – Craft thoughtful interview questions to guide the Podcast host when conducting the interview – Record interviews between Podcast Host and Doctors – Edit episodes and release them on Spotify and/or apple podcasts – Produce social media posts to create hype around episodes |
Public Relations | Subcommittee Member The role of the Public Relations Officer is to assist with the development and implementation of SMSANZâs strategy to engage doctors, medical societies and healthcare organizations. As part of your role, you will: – Maintain & develop relations with organizations & societies relevant to SMSANZâs agenda; – Assist SMSANZâs engagement with organizations & societies including local recruitment, events organization, corporate communications & strategic partnerships; – Facilitate the development of an integrated partnerships and engagement plan to meet the SMANZâs Public Relations strategic objectives; – Enhance the value of the SMSANZâs brand locally & internationally |
Editorials | Subcommittee Member The role of the Editorials subcommittee is to maintain SMSANZâs various social media platforms, which involves updating members with current events, recapping past events, promoting upcoming events, and fostering a sense of community amongst members. As part of your role, you will: – Assist with producing and posting content (primarily graphic design work) for various social media platforms (Instagram, Telegram, Facebook); – Collaborate with the Editorial Directors to produce a streamlined series of posts and links across all platforms, including the SMSANZ website; – Contribute to SMSANZâs biannual newsletter, âBicepsâ; and – Liaise with the rest of the SMSANZ EXCO to work according to an agreed schedule for the release of promotional material. |
